Catching up
Well, Hi Everyone!
I hope you're all well, but it seems like some crazy spring colds have been going around! My kids and I have been sick and right when I thought I was getting better, I think I caught the crud again. So now I have a cough that I just can't kick! I'm so done with it!
Crap! I just had a dinner emergency. It is 5 pm here and I had no plans for feeding the kids so I whipped up some yummy Betty Crocker Complete Meals boxed food, Fettuccine Chicken Alfredo, and after 40 min. in the oven, dinner will be served! It took about 5 minutes to throw it all together and the rest of the magic happens in the oven. I highly recommend these meals, they are pretty tasty and save my ill-prepared for dinner butt fairly often.
Have you seen this post over on A Soft Place to Land? I think those necklaces are so adorable! I love stuff like that and it really reminds me of the really classy, thoughtful jewelry you find in the Red Envelope catalog that I'm always drooling over. Check it out, they are to die for. They are by Lisa Leonard Designs.
On another note, I've decided to make a purse organizer. My sweet new purse has no pockets inside and since my purse doubles as a diaper bag/grocery bag/snack and beverage station, organization is a ::must::. Check it out, this is what I'm gonna make!

Cool, huh? Maybe I'll start on that tomorrow, I have all my pieces ready so all I need to do is sew it!
Another project on my to-do list is regarding this little gem
in my entry way. I have this really cute deacon's bench there that I got at a garage sale for $10. I love the bench, but it is really hard on your bum when you sit on it and if there's one thing I hate, it is a sore bum from sitting on something. So, obviously, it needs a cushion and some pillows or something to make it a really awesome place to sit while you get your shoes on or off!
I have some fabulous green chenille sitting around over here that would make a wonderful cushion for the bench and today at Joann, I picked up a second fabric to recover some really awful pillows my mother gave me. Reusing her ratty pillows will save me time and money, which is what I'm all about! What do you think about the fabrics together? I need your input. Srsly.I had an 'Established' sign made from a shop on Etsy that I'm going to put above the bench in the entry way. It will look like this but have my info on it! I'm pretty excited to get it and of course, I'll take pictures once it is here and on display!
My garden is coming right along out in my back yard. We've had ok weather, nothing too hot, to help coddle those seedlings along while they're small. If only I could keep the kids and dog out of the space, I just know my garden would grow like crazy! So far so good though, I did have to re-seed some plants so there are a lot that are really small still. Here are some shots of the progress so far. :) Right now, there are seedlings sprouting up all over. I planted some seeds after my first set died and then the dog dug them all up and they are now all mixed up and sprouting up wherever they landed. Grrr, but yay, because at least they're growing! LOLAnd also some shots of the wonderful things popping up in my back yard! Even mammoth sunflowers start out so small! I can't wait until these beasts are bigger than I am.
I guess I should fill you guys in on what's going on with the kidlets. Miss Olivia has had some issues with speech delays over the past year. The pediatrician was almost concerned at her 12 month visit and we just thought she was being a pill and would talk when she wanted to. Well in the past nearly 12 months, she hasn't really started talking too much yet. We had an early intervention team over from the state to check her over and they concurred that she was delayed and we'll start treatments with her soon. I'm still not sure what that means, but we're getting some help with her to catch her up to her peers.
On that note, she's been saying some new words here for us in the past day or so:
Hi-yo (Hello)
Eee-ee (swing)
Beee! (beetle)
baby
nack (snack)
So YAY Olivia! And to be fair, yesterday, Riley told me his feet smelled like carrots. (!?!?) I don't know what that's about but it struck me as funny.
Have a blessed day, everyone!

I got so hungry reading about all that food. And I can't even cook a decent meal for myself so I also pretty much have food stocked in the fridge that I can just reheat or cook in the microwave.
