I'm about to blog...

,

It is one of those days where I wish I had an unlimited supply of hot water. If I could, I'd stay in the bath all day because I just can't seem to get warm and stay that way! It is freezing outside and I seem to have such a hard time feeling warm in the winter.

We've had to turn our heat down, in hopes of helping the asthma around here. Perhaps all the hot, dry air from the heater is making it harder for Riley to breathe, so now we'll just wear sweats and socks and tough it out. Right now, I'm listening to him cough nearly constantly. I can't make him sit still and that's what he really needs to do! When you're 3, sitting still is the same as being dead so he just can't help himself but race and dash around the house at break-neck speeds, even if that means he has 5-10 minute coughing fits as a result!
I feel totally helpless.

Over the weekend, I did some big changes in my living room. I went to an estate sale and purchased a new curio cabinet type thing, new to me anyway, it is a big-time, major antique! I got it for a really, really good price and I was able to put all my super breakable, irreplaceable glass bits in there where (hopefully) they'll be safe. Safer than where they were, at any rate! Inside this glass cabinet, the kids can't touch them and the cats can't get to them. So, I can't ask for much more than that!! It has a light inside which makes for some really amazing glass displaying. The cabinet looks amazing when it is lit from within and the glass really reflects the light in beautiful ways.

I was able to re-do a book case that had previously been a cluttered dumping ground for my stuff. I'm constantly improving the looks of things and making things look cleaner, so here are my attempts at that!

Of course, with adding a new piece of furniture into my living room, other things had to move as well! So our deacon's bench got replaced with our book shelf and our book shelf got replaced by the curio cabinet. Our giant vase with tied sticks went to another corner to balance out the room. I think it looks really awesome. :) I'm happy. Also, I was able to de-clutter some on the fireplace mantle. Now there are only a few things there and it looks a lot more put together. Perhaps I'll add a few accessories as I find them, but for now, simple works for me.

Christmas is in full bloom here and our Advent calendar is starting to fill up! We will start with our Christmas celebrations this coming weekend and before we know it, we will be over-run with presents again. I've nearly finished my shopping, with just a few special people left on my list still. I need to finish off my mother, mother in law and brother in law. I really didn't buy too much for people this year, but times are tight so I hope everyone understands! Perhaps the kids and I will work on some home made holiday gifts in the coming days to make the gifts more awesome. :)

I'm debating buying a new diaper for Olivia. Does she need a monster print preston's pants or not? She has a ton of diapers but I think I might need to sell some that we don't reach for to fund this new diaper, BUT, it might be sold if I don't go ahead and buy it now. Oh, what a delima. I should probably spend the money on presents and not on DIAPERS!!!

I've decided against adding more pictures to the wall above my bed in the master bedroom. Instead, I'm going to find a better spacing for the two pictures I have now and make those work. I don't think it is wise to spend the money on the prints when what I've got can work just as well. If I find a great deal or something falls into my lap somewhere, I sure won't turn it down, but for now anyway, I'm just going to leave it alone.

So the kids appear to be in really ill health and of course, we don't have health insurance until the first of the year. Jason just started a new job so we're just hoping that they'll get over these colds/asthma junk without needing steroids or antibiotics. Though, really, if we're being honest, these are MY kids we're talking about. They're probably going to take 2-3 trips to the ER in the next few weeks just to complicate life. :P

I've decided to lower the prices again on my dolls to help them sell. It isn't worth making them if no one buys them so perhaps I was asking too much for them. I'm asking $16 + shipping now.

Check it out if you need a gift for a special little girl in your life. :O)

That is all for now! TTFN!

Everything looks great Sarah! Love the new piece! It's always so excitinng to find stuff at yard sales. And do you have to ask me about the diaper? Of course she needs it!
