Homemade pizza Monday
,
Even though I'm not really feelin' it tonight, I'm making dinner. And on top of that, I'm going outside my comfort zone of making a frozen pizza and instead.....I'm making a pizza from scratch.
I shall take photos and wow you with my culinary skillz!!! OOooooOO!
So it wasn't too hard making the crust but then Mr Hubster and I kinda started drawing blanks as to what to put on our pizza. I decided to brown some chicken, chop some spinach, add some bacon and sun dried tomatoes. Mr Hubster mixed all the ingredients and made the crust while I chopped. :)
This is the recipe I followed for the homemade crust:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 eggs, lightly beaten
- 2/3 cup milk
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Lightly grease a rimmed pizza pan or baking sheet.
- In a large bowl, stir together flour, salt, oregano and black pepper. Mix in eggs and milk; stir well. Pour batter into prepared pan and tilt until evenly coated. Arrange toppings of choice on top of batter.
- Bake in preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes, until crust is set.
- Remove crust from oven. Drizzle on pizza sauce and sprinkle on cheese. Bake until cheese is melted, about 10 minutes.
A little mixie-do and we have our pizza all ready for the oven!!
The finished product!! It was yummy but the crust was a little bland. Next time, we'll try adding some stuff to spice it up some, but for a first attempt, I'm pretty proud of myself. :) It didn't turn out horrible and it didn't take too long for it to come together.
Now, I'm going to go take a bath. I'm not really excited about it since it is already nearly 10 pm, but I have to be clean before morning because I have to jet outta here first thing to an appointment with my dermatologist.
Oh, side note, did I mention that I wrecked my car this weekend? Yes I did!! I'm a big time major screw up because of what I wrecked my car ON. Go ahead. Ask. You know you want to know, you're just dying from curiosity. Ok. I'll tell you.
I backed up into my garage door. ::sigh:: The last panel gets hung up sometimes and doesn't go up all the way and when I looked in my rear-view, I couldn't see it anymore and the garage had stopped so...I figured it was up. Ahem...wrong. $659 worth of damage done to my new car. I nearly ripped my rear spoiler and brake light OFF the car, or I should say that the garage door nearly did. The garage door has been repaired and the parts have been ordered for the car.
I am now accepting charity to pay for my hideous mistakes. :P Have a good one ya'll.
