Am I totally crazy?

,

I've decided to start selling Mary Kay. :sigh: I still don't know what I was thinking when I signed the agreement.

Well, I do know what I was thinking. I was thinking that if I put some effort into this, perhaps I can make a difference in my family, feel like I'm contributing something and make our life a little more comfortable.

I'm scared to death. What if no one buys from me? What if I just can't do this? What if I can't *find* anyone to sell to?

I feel like I'm on such a dead end path, professionally. Of course, taking a break to stay home with the kids for a few years certainly isn't going to do anything for my money making potential in the research arena! I would go back to being a vet tech when I'm done being a stay at home mom, but even that is a nowhere job. You can't advance in it, you're either a tech or a vet with no room for wiggle. Plus, I'm out of practice, and with all jobs, I'm just not used to using my brains like that anymore, I don't know if I would remember how!

So someone talk me up about this Mary Kay thing. I'm timidly excited about the idea of being involved with a company that is so supportive to women. I hope I can do well and meet my current goals within the program.

Eeek! Something new! I'm scared of change!

Thanks for visiting my blog. So if the Mary Kay venture bombs what have you lost? Go for it.

Thanks for the comment on my entertainment center.

I checked out a little of your blog and have to say I LOVE the china you found at BB&B! I registered for a very plain china and have rarely used it. I wish I had gotten a more casual set of china.

I sell Mary Kay and would love to email you some information and links from what I have learned over the past 7 or 8 years! One word of advice...don't let them overload you on inventory up front. They will tell you, you can't sell from an empty wagon, blah, blah but you don't need a ton! Order mainly skincare and skimp on color. If you need color you can find it on pinklighthouse.com from MK consultants that have extras or are getting out of the business. It sure beats having a bunch of money sunk into lipsticks that are colors your clients won't buy.

It can be a good thing if you are smart about it and not caught up in all the hype and "being a star" each quarter. :)

Good luck and I'm sure you'll do great!

So many "what if's in life. What if you don't give it a try? You'll always wonder. Sometimes we just have to step out in faith. I know a couple of people who do quite well with Mary Kay! Thanks for visiting. Good luck and let us know how it works out!
